Children :

Pepin was raised by his paternal grandmother Queen Bertrada after the divorce of his parents
He rebelled unsuccessfully against his father (792) fearing he would be displaced in the succession by his younger half-brothers
Pepin and his young son were then forcibly tonsured as monks which act rendered them ineligible to wear the crown
Father and son remained within the Abbey of Prum until their deaths
