Adelaide of Bliesgau
Holy Roman Empress consort (901 – 905) and Queen consort of Provence (c898 – 922)
Born (c880) – Died (922)
Father – Erenfried of Bliesgau
Mother – Adalgunde of Burgundy
Adelaide was married (c898) to Emperor Louis III
Usually referred to as ‘Adelaide of Burgundy’ she was actually the niece of King Rudolf I not his daughter as is sometimes stated. Contrary to information provided by many genealogical tables Adelaide was Louis’s only attested wife. Adelaide was therefore the mother of all his children
