Ada and Wicbert founded the Abbey and church of Liessies in Hainault on estates granted to them jointly by King Pepin (768). Tradition asserts that Ada presented the Abbey of St Maximin at Treves in Austrasia, with a codex aureus (copy of the gospels) which is preserved at the Stadbibliothek at Treves. The names of their daughters reflect their close relationship with Carolingian royal family.
