King of England (979 – 1013) and (1014 – 1016) – also known as Ethelred II
Nicknamed the Redeless or the Unready which both mean ‘without counsel’
He abdicated in favour of Sweyn Forkbeard (1913) but regained the throne in 1014
Born (966) – Died (April 23, 1016) in London
Buried within Old St Paul’s Cathedral in London
His tomb was destroyed during the Great Fire (1666)
