Her unusual name was derived from her great-grandfather the Babenberg Count Poppo I of Grabfeldgau

Poppa was captured by the Viking Rollo together with the town of Bayeux (892). She later became the wife (c900 - c905) of Rollo of Normandy (link). This marriage took place in the Danish manner but was only recognized as concubinage by Christian writers

Children :

Poppa was repudiated by Rollo (911) when he married the Carolingian princess Gisela and was baptized as a Christian. With the death of Duchess Gisela (919) Poppa was remarried to Rollo and became his duchess consort until he abdicated in favour of their son William (927).
