As Earl of Wessex Harold married firstly (c1044) to Edith Swanneshals (link)
They were later divorced (1064) for dynastic reasons
NOTE :
Edith was usually regarded by Norman sources as Harold's mistress or concubine
However, given her close connection with the Anglo-Saxon royal family this is hardly likely
Harold perhaps married Edith in the so-called 'Danish-manner' a custom decried by the English church
Thus her divorce was accepted by the church without a murmur as they did not recognize the legitimacy of the couple's marriage
In Danish law however, the marriage of Edith and Harold was considered legitimate as were their children
Children :

Harold II married secondly (1064) to Aldgyth of Mercia (link)
